"Pimpy" - Rudolph A. Thomas Jr.

July 27, 1940 - July 21, 2016

"Pimpy" - Rudolph A. Thomas, Jr., 75, of St. John, died peacefully on Thursday, July 21, 2016 after a lengthy illness. Pimpy was the pioneer of the water delivery business. He started Pimpy's Water Delivery after his return home from the U.S. Army where he served on active duty from November 1960 to October 1962, as an Automobile Mechanic. He was a jack of all trades; musician, comedian, carpenter, mechanic, and volunteer fire fighter just to name a few. But most importantly he was a man of God.

He is survived by his wife Joan A. Thomas, and their two daughters Beverly A. Thomas Adams, and Brenda A. Thomas Olague.

With Naomi Hodge, he is the father of Beverly L. Thomas, Byron V. Thomas, and Lee V. Thomas.

He was one of thirteen siblings and his surviving brothers are Aubrey Thomas, Alfredo Smith, and Roy Smith, and sister Anna Smith Penn.

His brothers-in-law are Louis Jackson and John Anthony, and sisters-in-law are Ina Smith, Eleanor Thomas, Lillian Plaskett, Ruth Vanterpool, Hilda Anthony. Lincoln Adams is his son-in-law, and Norma Thomas is his daughter-in-law.

He is also survived by his grandchildren Kylan, Kyle, Kalaria, Gregory, Khye, Kamal, Kaleem, Khiry, Kamai, Beneshia, Byron Jr., Virginia, Akeel, Aleek, Kadeem, Lee Jr., Tyreek, Kyla, and Kaleah. He also has many great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Funeral Information

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the viewing on Saturday, 06 August 2016 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Bethany Moravian Church on St. John. The service will follow at 10 a.m. Interment will be at the Bethany Moravian Church Cemetery on St. John. Repass will be at Nella's Lounge following the burial.

Arrangements are under the care of Hurley Funeral Home and Cremation Center of St. Thomas and St. John.
