DAN HURLEY Owner and Funeral Director

Dan Hurley has worked in the Funeral Industry for the past 40 years. He has owned and managed funeral homes in the Boston area where he is originally from. A full time resident of St. Thomas, USVI, for the last several years, he holds a Bachelor’s degree in Embalming and Applied Arts and Sciences from Mt. Ida College in Newton Massachusetts as well as a Bachelor and Masters Degree in Accounting and Business Management from the University of Massachusetts in Boston.

Joycelyn Connor has been managing Hurley Funeral Home since 2003. She works with families in their time of grief and provides them with the care and service they deserve. Mrs. Connor also supervises the daily operations of the business and is always ready to “care for those you care about.

Mrs. Connor attended the University of the Virgin Islands (UVI) and obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Accounting degree, magna cum laude. She was inducted in the Golden Key Honor Society and is a lifetime member. She also served as one of UVI students’ representatives in the University’s Senate.

She attends the Nisky Moravian Church, where she serves as president of the Women’s Fellowship and is a member of the gospel choir.

Mary Powell, comes with a wealth of experience to the funeral industry. Mrs. Powell owned and operated a day care in Cruz Bay, St. John for more than 40 years. She is also a member of the Bethany Moravian Church in St. John. She has played an integral role in the lives of many in the St. Johnian community. Mrs. Powell's involvement in funeral service ranges from meeting with families initially to directing funeral services. She is always ready to attend to the family's needs.

Benedict Walker joined the staff in October 2017.  Coming from Grenada, he has over 30 years of experience and is considered one of the best restorative artist in the Caribbean.

Crystal is a Funeral Coordinator/Administrative Assistant. New to the Dan Hurley Home for Funerals and Cremation Centers, Crystal brings her administrative and customer service experience to the business. Specializing in organization and customer care, she alsohas a wide background in computers and social media networking. 

 

From coordinating funerals to attending as a face for the business at funerals, Crystal is pleased to be on this team.
