Neville Oscar Maynard

We announce the passing of Neville Oscar Maynard, Sr. of St. Thomas who passed away on May 24, 2017 in Virginia Beach, VA at the age of 79. Neville was proceeded in death by his parents - James and Jane Maynard, his children - Oscar Maynard, Brian Maynard, Ingrid Maynard and Joy Maynard, his brothers - Cecil Maynard and Robert Maynard his sisters - Mildred Maynard and Evelyn Solomon.
He leaves behind to celebrate his life and legacy his wife of 55 years - Janet Irene Maynard, his children - Debbie “Phaciel” Maynard, Brian “Yellowman” Maynard, Jasmine “Niffels” Maynard-Lloyd, Erica “Twigs” Maynard-White, Denise “Wezzy” Maynard, Anna “Nana” Williams and Neville “Peck” Maynard Jr., his special adopted son - William “Shorty” Peters, his grandchildren - Natalie Maynard, Tessa Maynard, Brian Maynard Jr., Nathanial Lloyd, Isaiah Lloyd, Bria Maynard and Jaheema Maynard, his special adopted grandchildren - Tatiana Hernandez, Rashod Gibson, Tyree Gibson, Aaron Brown, his great grandchildren - Teshel Browne, Nieme Browne, Brianna Davis and Zayden Barber, his brothers - Winston Maynard, Paget Maynard, James "Ken" Gaton and Terrance Joseph, his sisters - Kathleen Osborne, Ena Callendar, Shermel Osborne, Emily Movita Edwards, Mildred Jacobs, Evelyn Hanley and Maisie Hodge, his sons-in-law - Hudson Lloyd and Rhandi “Ribs” White,his daughter- in- law - Jasmine Browne-Maynard, his brothers- in- law - Peter Gumbs, Rupert Gumbs, Earl Osborne, Roi Simmonds and Leroy Hodge, his sisters- in- law - Sylvia Martin and Mona Joseph, his special friends - William “Willy” Nisbett and Ellsworth “Jonesy” Jones. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews and friends. May his soul rest in peace.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the first viewing on Friday, June 16, 2017 at the Celestial Chapel of Hurley Funeral Home from 5-7pm. A traditional wake to follow immediately after at Nisbett Cabinet Shop in Subbase.
A second viewing will be held on Saturday, June 17, 2017 from 9am – 10am at St. Andrews Episcopal Church with the Celebration of Life Service starting at 10am. Interment follow at Western Cemetery.
